Da's Candy FLoss And More Pincuchions

Just for the fun of it... i want to show 2 pincushions i made not so long ago.... Actually i wanted to see how my own hand-dyed threads turn out.....you see... i've been doing some experiments with threads and dyes...

So here is the result...



The last one is my favorite floss...it turned out so well.... But the first one on top is the 'failed one'..... i nearly threw it into the dustbin.... but being my first ever hand-dyed floss,..i tried stitching with it a bit... and made into a that blue pincushion.... just for keepsake...

Notice the better picture quality?... those pictures were taken by Dear Son No 1, with his newly bought camera... hmmmm.... i need to borrow that camera often....

A Pinkeep And A Scissors Pocket

I am quite pleased with myself today... because i made a pinkeep for the first time...


And yeah... it is a pinkeep... with all the pins stuck around it...but am still not sure of the use/purpose of this thing...
If its a place to keep pins... it doesn't make sense with mine... i had a hard time trying to push the pins in.... and once its there, its almost permanent...
But, if its meant to keep the pins there forever... then it does make sense..

I also made it into a scissors' pocket so that we can keep our scissors there, obviously....(what am i saying??...please bear with me..)


By the way... the pattern is Mary Garry's Sewing Cabin.... i love the wacky hair style....it makes me smile just looking at it....
So, that is what your hair is going to look like if you stitch too much!!!hahaha..
