Alien In The Garden

This is my Paula Vaughan project which i started quite a long time ago (well... actually very long long time ago).... the pattern is Lovely Lilies from the Quilts From The Garden book....

So far...this is the most challenging project for me.... a lot of colour changing... and there are new things for me to tackle like.... half stitches and quarter stitches.... well half stitches are fine but quarter stitches are killing me...arrgh...

There is supposed to be a quilt some where in the middle but i have given up working on it.... by the way can anybody see an alien there? hubby thought that is a pink alien there... hahaha... how many time i have tell him that no alien is involve here.... that is a QUILT!

Kenduri Cheese Tarts

Last saturday i got the chance to make these yummy cheese tartlets... sedap memang sedap... but not as sedap as yang Kak Ros buat.... fikir punya fikir... i know the reason lah... dulu tu makan ramai2 dengan my darling sisters dan sebab Kak Ros yang buat...
yang ni buat sendiri... makan pulak sorang2(almost!)....pastu filling dia yg mistake... i used wildberry filling.... rasa dia pelik sket bagi orang yang tak biasa (like me lah)...

I made some without fruit filling for my DS no:1... he wont take any kind of fruit...so for him i just put cheese filling.... i tried one of his...mmmm sedap!...then i put some strawberry jam on it....mmmm...laaagi sedap....
So...moral of the story...next time nak buat lagi but nak guna strawberry filling or blueberry filling...

Tapi kan dalam tak sedap tak sedap wildberry filling tu kan..... me dah makan dalam 10 bijik juga....hahaha...

Ps: Buat jangan tak buat....rugi tau...

A Beautiful Pinkeep From Ain

I never guessed that i would be Ain's partner... but thanks to our clever Adik Manis... i am the recipient of her gift... what a nice surprise....

So here it is ...show time!
What a pretty it is... the colour combination is so sweet ...but most of all i love the saying on it..." cross stitch forever...housework whenever".... yess..that is sooo me!...hihihi

Along with it she gave me lots of colourful buttons...ribbons flowers...felt and bobbins... oh i love them all... It is so very sweet of you, Ain...muahs!

A pinkeep for Ain

We had our Pinkeep Exchange recently and my partner is our sweet Ain... thank you Miss Organiser for letting her be my partner....
Well i am sure everyone has seen it on her blog but i am going to show it here one more time..... the pattern is Tiny Little Quaker from Papillon....

All the stitching was done during my holidays in Kelantan at my dear MIL's house

And a family photo before i send it to Ain personally... it was a bit late to sent it by post.... well... not really... actually, its just an excuse for me to see Ain again....hahaha

In Love With Crochet

Do i crochet?.... oh yes i do... i love to crochet tho' i am not very good at it.... i learned from the books...and the internet.... so there are lots of guessing game here.... of whether i am doing the right thing or not.... until today i am not sure of how to read certain patterns.... most of of the time i just 'hentam saja'... as long as my finish product resembles their picture... jadi la tu agaknyer...hehehe
Oh how i wish ada sifu yang boleh tunjuk hands on.... kalau Kak Reen or Mus ada dekat kan senang...?

Okay... i started this doily last December.... yes ..DECEMBER 2006..
I was so crazy about crochet then that i started 3 projects...ermmm 4 actually....naughty... naughty...naughty... its been a UFO until i made an effort to carry it around and crochet whenever i can (well... mostly in the car).... so i finished this doily last week....NOVEMBER 2007...



What happened to the other 3 projects?.... A shawl for my girl is completed on the spot...well because it is small and easy... the other two are tops for my girl... all at about 30% progress....hmmmm
And guess what?...last week me TERlaunch another baju project for her... "Mom...dah lupa ker baju saya dulu belum siap?" huhuhu... what can say... the little girl tops in the books look so adorable... i just can't help myself....

And kat bawah ni me tengah test drive pattern utk buat alas meja... its a combination of 2 different blocks ... they are quite easy to do.... just hope that i wont get bored doing the same thing over and over again... Kalau ada geng baru seronok buat ni...so anybody in for Crochet-A-Long table cloth? Jangan lupa....kita kan 'sedara'?

My Precious JE Frendship SAL

Hi there my dear friends...

Today is the day i have been waiting for... i just can't wait to announce that i have finally finished stitching my JE Friendship .... tak sangka la pulak... tiba2 dah TERsiap this morning...hehehe

Whoa.. what a great feeling .... after all the back stitches and not to mention the backache i have to endure in the last few days....

But look at it..... all the hard work is paid off.... as now, i have this beautiful and meaningful piece that i will cherish forever in the name of our friendship... (alahai.. jiwang la pulak makcik....)


I want thank you all my friends who have given me endless support to finish this SAL.... without you, i don't know when i will ever finish this project...
To all that have completed their SAL, CONGRATULATION!.... and for those are still working on it....KEEP STITCHING.... you will get there soon...

First of all... i am so sorry for not updating this blog for quite a while.... i' ve been extremely busy these days(so is everybody,i guess)..... so many things to do and yet so little time ...

Well...Ramadhan is almost over.... and tomorrow is already Hari Raya....How is every body doing? I miss you all terribly.....I always wonder what all my dear stitching sisters are up to.... i can guess that some are busy making hari raya cookies, some are busy sewing...some are busy shopping...some are already balik kampung .....but i am sure all of us are busy preparing for Hari Raya....

JE Friendship SAL Update

Hi all.... hows the long weekend?... i' been home most of the time working very hard on my much neglected SAL... i am quite happy with my progress... this time i concentrate on speed... i don't care much about neatness anymore... i hope to get 2nd shelf done before Ramadhan...

Puasa nanti, i have to jahit baju raya pulak... quite a handful tho'... for me and my girl sepasang dua... for my 2 boys sepasang sorang(part ni yang lemahnya...baju melayu cekak musang!! adeh..) And...i have a this big angan2 too... this year i want to make one for dear hubby... never in my life have i make one for him... always tempah jer...
Well...lets see if i can do all that... from past experiences... last2 nanti, i just jump to Plan B.... baju melayu tu, beli jer Ready Made....huhuhu..

Since i didnt post an update last month, here are some pictures i took about a month ago... special location...tu Dataran Merdeka tau...MERDEKA!!

Bookmark Exchange

At last the suspence is over... the mystery is solved....and all the questions answered...
My secret partner is who else but our dear Adik Manis,Musliha....
This afternoon when i went to the Post Office to collect my parcel, when the post worker was flipping thro' the bundle of registered items, i spotted my parcel right away .... i recognised Mus's neat handwriting.... what a nice surprise...
Ok...without further ado...lets us enjoy the view....

This is her beautifully stitched bookmark.... it is soooo... beautiful in my eyes...i keep staring at it all the way to my lil girl's school.... muahs... thank you very much Mus...

And with that, she gave me this cute crocheted cupcake...cik gumi2...alahai memang comel sesangat....
Then, there is a set of needles... hmmm very2 useful....
And a ball of white tatting thread... well, i really like this thread... i want to try crochet a doily from it... huhu... talking about big dream........

And here is the back view of the bookmark... see the fabric she used for backing?.... she remembers.... that is a pumpkin pincushion she gave not long ago...and i have actually made a very good use of that 'labu'...hehehe.

Da's Candy FLoss And More Pincuchions

Just for the fun of it... i want to show 2 pincushions i made not so long ago.... Actually i wanted to see how my own hand-dyed threads turn out.....you see... i've been doing some experiments with threads and dyes...

So here is the result...



The last one is my favorite floss...it turned out so well.... But the first one on top is the 'failed one'..... i nearly threw it into the dustbin.... but being my first ever hand-dyed floss,..i tried stitching with it a bit... and made into a that blue pincushion.... just for keepsake...

Notice the better picture quality?... those pictures were taken by Dear Son No 1, with his newly bought camera... hmmmm.... i need to borrow that camera often....

My JE SAL Update

Hello friends....i realised that i haven't shown my progress on my JE SAL until now... so sorry about that, Puan Organiser Salmi..... we should make an update on our SAL progress at least once a month, right?

So here it is....


hmmm... i thought i can finish the top shelf before i show it here... but sad to say... my target is not achieved... and now that i have some thing important to do..(the Bookmark Exchange), my SAL has to wait in queue again....

Chocolate Cake Anyone?

oh while my blogging mood is still hot....i must show you this....
i have done something that i haven't done for a very very long time.....
i baked a cake!!! chocolate cupcakes....
trust me...it was very long ago since i baked a cake (or anything!)....the expiry date on the cocoa powder packet said it...
i got another month to finish the nearly 2kg of cocoa powder.... help!

you see...i am easily influenced....
you show me chocolate cakes... i pine for chocolate cake...
you mentioned nasi berlauk...just now i eat it for breakfast...
who knows....soon i'll be making cupcakes pincushions...hehehe... PEACE

owh.... enough babbling...here is the chocolate cupcakes i made yesterday.... yummy even without topping due to plain laziness....

A Pinkeep And A Scissors Pocket

I am quite pleased with myself today... because i made a pinkeep for the first time...


And yeah... it is a pinkeep... with all the pins stuck around it...but am still not sure of the use/purpose of this thing...
If its a place to keep pins... it doesn't make sense with mine... i had a hard time trying to push the pins in.... and once its there, its almost permanent...
But, if its meant to keep the pins there forever... then it does make sense..

I also made it into a scissors' pocket so that we can keep our scissors there, obviously....(what am i saying??...please bear with me..)


By the way... the pattern is Mary Garry's Sewing Cabin.... i love the wacky hair style....it makes me smile just looking at it....
So, that is what your hair is going to look like if you stitch too much!!!hahaha..

Thanks to the quality of the pictures...i bet you guys cannot pin-point the imperfections of my finishing....

A DIY Craft Stand

Last weekend my dream came true.... with the help of my dear hubby we managed to make my DIY craft stand, stands proudly (thus the name, eh?)...

took us 3-4 days to complete...

Day 1...
hunting for materials and wood cutting and sanding the surfaces...sanding took a few hours...i did it manually with the help of my lil gal...

Day 2...
relax day....well... drilling is not what i can tackle on my own yet...and hubby was not free.....

Day 3...
drill, drill, drill until we can see smoke coming out from the holes...hehehe
then, putting everything together....not an easy task.. as the holes we drilled are not big enough for the bolts...reasons...we dont have the right drill bits...

Day 4...
still trying to fix this and that...to make the clamp mouth work...i got sore fingers from handling the bolts, nuts and screws...

but all the hard work paid off... we are so proud of ourselves....
look..everybody ...my craft stand, STANDS!!! And it works...(tho' it wobbles a little..)
oh... i added that pattern holder and a pincushion to make my life easier..
well...now i need a place to hang my scissors too....hmmm...

SAL Update

I am a little 'rajin' today.... just managed to shake off that nasty virus, MUBS='Malas Update Blog Syndrome' today,..i am sending another post .... clap!clap!clap!..

After much stitching last night...while watching 'So U Think U Can Dance' over Channel 8, this is where i am now....


Not a good picture tho'...but at least you can see my progress... nothing to worry about guys(my SAL buddies)...i am nowhere ahead of you....
Notice that my working print in the background is already like "belacan"...and the gridding is pathetic!..hihihik...

An ETUI from Dania...

On wednesday, i received a parcel from Dania....
And guess what? Its a lovely ETUI made by her own two hands...
Awww...i am so touched...and happy, happy..happy...
Before this, i've been drooling over those pictures in her blog...
My, my...the ETUI looks more beautiful in person.... i play and play with it for hours! ... hehehe...




I love the fabric she used...and wow!..can she sew too?....the gathered pockets and bands... its a clever way of putting it together....so perfect ... so beautiful!!... i can never make one like that...

To Dania...thank you very much for such a wonderful gift...i am truly honoured..... muahs!

i've finished stitching my britty kitty yesterday.....can't decide on how to finish it yet.... probably i will frame it.....
i am so inspired...now i can take on a new project...

Wow!...lucky me...who would have thougth that she would send me fabric for a suit of baju kurung/kebaya...beautiful!.. i love it very much..
